Integrated Care Unit

The Integrated Care Unit is a safe environment for people with complex needs to develop news skills and get the right support. The level of staffing reflects the support needs for each person and staff work with individuals to encourage sensory stimulation.

There’s a timetable filled with activities including sensory cooking, hand and foot massage, music and movement sessions and time in our sensory room. People supported at the Integrated Care Unit can integrate with the day centre and take part in a variety of community activities.

Places at the Integrated Care Unit are open to block contracts or private payment on a contract.

Day centre

Our day centre in Ifield runs a number of groups and workshops to encourage creativity and self-expression. The centre is a hub of activity, welcoming people we support across Sussex to join groups and workshops. Places at the day centre are open to block contracts or private payment on a contract.

Our art and pottery sessions encourage people with learning disabilities and autism to make choices and express themselves in an inclusive and creative environment. Working with local organisations, participants have opportunities to get involved in local projects and meet new people along the way.

Our drama group gets involved in all aspects of live performances – they write their own scripts, design and build their own sets, piece together their own costumes and put on performances to the public.

With a more modern approach to art our media group uses cameras, stop-motion, editing suites and other technical skills to produce short films. In this international award winning stop-motion video, LEGO characters are having car troubles.

Horticulture Garden Centre

The Ifield Garden Nursery specialises in the production of seasonal bedding plants. The nursery is well known locally for our hanging baskets with over five hundred ordered in summer (2015).

The nursery also provides a stimulating and inclusive environment for people with learning disabilities and autism.

Together with the Outreach 3 Way staff, a team of people we support work hard to plant and sell over twenty thousand plug plants each year. Their work teaches them more than horticultural skills; they work as a team, develop their social skills, gain experience for future work placements and learn essential life skills.

As each season changes so do their responsibilities – in spring, summer and autumn, you’ll find them preparing hanging baskets for several local pubs and businesses. During winter, they are involved in the maintenance of our 42 acre estate.

We are open to the public every day during May and June from 10am to 4pm for plant sales.
