About our space
Newton House in Bath offers you a supported place to stay away from home, giving you and your loved ones the chance to rest, relax, and recharge.
We’ve five bedrooms, each with a flat screen TV and DVD player, a stereo and lots of storage space. Two of our bedrooms have hoists and we have a through floor lift for those with restricted mobility.
There is lots of space indoors and outdoors to relax and have some quiet time.
For people who like to keep busy, we have an activity room with games consoles, books, board games, DVDs and sensory lighting.
Guests can choose to do some baking or get involved in meal planning and preparation in our well-equipped kitchen.
Relax. You’re on holiday!
Bath is one of the country’s most beautiful and historic cities and guess what – we’re just outside the centre! We’ll support you into town to see the sights, or relax in one of the many pavement cafes.
If you like the theatre, cinema or boat trips on the river we’ll support those too. Trips further afield include Longleat Safari Park, Weymouth, Monkey World and other popular South West attractions.
Newton House is close to the main bus link into Bath. This is the most cost effective form of travel. We can also arrange taxis or a hire car. And our staff are fully insured to use their own vehicles.
Even though it is a UNESCO World Heritage site, Bath itself is an accessible city. There’s five Changing Places in the city for example. Find out more here.
I first had an evening visit to Newton House which went well. I met some of the staff who were very welcoming. When I came back for my first stay I quickly settled in. I had a busy week and at first the staff accompanied me to my work in the daytime, and clubs in the evenings. But soon I learnt my way around and I started to use the buses on my own. I’ve done a lot in a short time here: I’ve been to the cinema, the pub, for walks, and taken part with jobs in the house such as shopping and my own laundry. It’s a friendly place and I’m happy here.

How we work
When you book for the first time, we will create your support profile together, so that every member of our team knows exactly what you want from your stay. We’ll understand your gifts, abilities and needs, and we’ll do our best to make your time with us unforgettable.
Perhaps you want to develop new skills? We’ll work together on outcomes and goals, to make you more independent and more confident. Some guests want to learn lots of life skills. Others just want to have a good time. We’ll make it happen.
You’ll be treated with the utmost respect for your dignity, privacy and any cultural or religious preferences you have.
We’re regulated and inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). Most people access our services using their Personal Budget, although private payers are also welcome.
