Baily Thomas House

Join us for a short break in Newbury

Different spaces – so you can be you

Why not follow in the footsteps of Princess Anne, who opened Baily Thomas House in 2004!

You’ll find that Baily Thomas House has something for everyone—whether you prefer fun with friends or quiet moments in front of the TV in your room.

You can try arts and crafts in our activities area, play board games or pool, or step into the kitchen for a spot of cooking.

If you’re into gardening, you’ll love our spacious outdoor area and greenhouse.

All our guests, including those in wheelchairs, can enjoy our fully equipped outdoor play area.

Our accessibility

We’re a purpose-built, single storey building which means that we’re accessible to all.  In particular, two of our six bedrooms are fully wheelchair accessible and come complete with en-suite bathrooms and lift-and-tilt beds, meaning you’ll be comfortable even if you have restricted mobility.

Out and about in Newbury

You’ll enjoy our fantastic location just outside the centre of Newbury. Whether it’s a visit to the town centre, retail park, bowling alley, or cinema, we love making the most of what’s nearby. On sunny days, we venture further afield for special outings.

Flexible Stays, Personalised Support

Perhaps you’re thinking about visiting Baily Thomas House for the inside of a day, a weekend break or a longer stay? Whatever you’re thinking of, you’ll find we tailor our support to give you a great time.

You’ll help us create your own personalised support profile, so that our team understands your preferences and goals. If you want to focus on specific skills or areas of development – vocational, educational, or social—we’ll work together to create meaningful goals to help build your independence, confidence, and self-esteem.

Dignity, Respect & Individuality

At Baily Thomas House we’ll treat you with dignity, respect and sensitivity to your cultural and religious preferences, meaning that our space is truly inclusive and supportive.

[I call] the staff and residents my extended Baily Thomas family, because they are so supportive and friendly towards me. We are always given the choice and support to do what we want to do…
