Our chief executive, Rachael Dodgson, on 1 December 2025 answered questions from users of social networking site Reddit.
The webchat took place on the ‘UK Politics’ Reddit community, which sees over 270,000 visitors – most from the UK – each week.
The online conversation, which took the form of written questions and answers, was a chance to see social care debated in the same space as national politics, budgets and breaking news.
Across the thread, people asked direct questions about:
- Supporting people who draw on support to have genuine choice and control in their everyday life
- Financial sustainability for providers and local authorities, and how that feels for families who rely on support
- Disabled-led leadership, staff pay, and what Dimensions is doing to build a more inclusive workforce.
In the conversation, frontline realities were never far away. A parent asked how supported living works when a family member needs flexible support.
Another user challenged how we make sure people do not become a number in the system, especially when they do not use words to communicate.
