Our Board

Meet the people who hold us to account and set our strategy

Nick Baldwin CBE. Chair of the Board

Nick has a wealth of relevant leadership experience and expertise in supporting people with learning disabilities and autism. He served as the Chair of Ambitious about Autism, and of Sanctuary Housing Group, from 2008 to 2014.

Nick also has substantial executive board experience in regulated industries, including as Chief Executive of Powergen plc (a FTSE 100 company) from 2001 to 2002. He is a Chartered Engineer by profession and a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and of the Institution of Engineering and Technology among others.

Matt Campion

Matt has worked in the social housing sector for 25 years and held a wide range of roles from supported housing officer to Group Chief Executive across organisations including Viridian Housing and Shepherd’s Bush Housing Group. He has also held a number of NED roles, including on other Housing Association Boards (Hexagon and Newlon), AKT (a national LGBT youth charity providing supported housing) and is current Trustee and Treasurer for the Brighton’s Gay Men’s Chorus. He is also independent Member of a Foster Care Panel. Matt is a Member of the Finance & Resources Committee.

Richard Crompton QPM.

Richard is committed to high quality public services, having had many years’ experience of police leadership at the highest level, including as Chief Constable of Lincolnshire Police, and in Non-Executive leadership roles, including as Chair of the Plymouth Hospitals Trust and Chair of Safeguarding Adults Boards in Somerset and Wiltshire.

He is currently also Chair of South West Ambulance Service NHS Trust

Richard is the father of an adult daughter with Downs Syndrome.

He was awarded the Queen’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service in the 2011 New Year’s Honours List.

Shahana Khan OBE.

Shahana has been Finance Director/CFO of healthcare organisations in the UK and the Middle East. She has served both in the capacity of Executive Director of NHS Trust Boards and Non-Executive Director/Trustee on the Board of Accord Housing Association and Healthcare Financial Management Association, where she is also a national Past President. She has worked at national, regional and local level and was recognised in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list having been awarded the OBE for her services to healthcare finance and social housing. Shahana is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accounts and Chartered Global Management Accountants.

Shahana is Chair of the Audit & Risk Committee.

Noah Franklin

Noah has a background in finance and general management, with a wealth of board experience in the commercial and charity sectors.

He is a chartered accountant who held senior roles at Whitbread and at Cadbury Schweppes, where he was Finance Director for Europe, the Middle East & Africa and Managing Director for Global Business Services. He has also been Chief Financial Officer for an AIM-listed technology company and for a substantial international dairy produce business.

Noah was a Trustee and Treasurer of Diabetes UK from 2011 to 2020 and for an education charity in Kenya from 2009 to 2013. He is currently a Trustee and Chair of the Audit Committee at the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecologists

Noah is Chair of the Group Finance & Resources Committee.

Kevin Hogarth

Kevin has over 30 years’ executive HR experience spanning three sectors – healthcare, financial services and professional services – having worked for Boots, Abbey National, Capital One, Freshfields, Norton Rose Fulbright, EY and most recently for KPMG as the UK Chief People Officer.

Kevin now runs his own advisory and consulting business supporting leadership teams with people and talent strategies, succession planning processes, diversity, equity and inclusion practices and HR organisation design.

He has recently taken on a role as Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Adviser for Wellcome Trust helping them become a more inclusive employer and is a Board Member at The Law Society, Chairing their People and Remuneration Committee.

Kevin is Chair of the Human Resources Committee.

Angela McNab

Angela began her professional life in clinical roles, including as a speech therapist working with people with learning disabilities and autism.

She has since held a number of policy and leadership roles across health and social care, regulation and the Civil Service, including as Chief Executive of NHS bodies and Trusts, Director of Public Health Delivery and Chief Executive of the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority.

Angela is currently Senior Responsible Officer (S.136 Pathway) for NHS London and holds a number of advisory roles on public health policy and strategic support, and she is Vice-Chair of the Kent & Medway Integrated Care Board.

Angela is Chair of the Remuneration & Nominations Committee.

Huw John

Huw has worked within social care for over 35 years, including front line carer, development, regulatory and senior leadership roles across the public, charity and private sectors. He is the former CEO of Manchester Care and The Camphill Village Trust and was previously the Deputy Chair of the National Care Forum and a Trustee of The Voluntary Organisation Disability Group. Originally a qualified Youth and Community Worker, he has extensive experience of championing person focused support and opportunities for people with learning disabilities, autism and dementia.

Huw is Chair of the Quality & Practice Committee and the Member Responsible for Complaints.

Andrea Sutcliffe CBE

Andrea originally qualified in public sector accountancy but moved into significant and broad leadership roles across health and social care – areas she has dedicated nearly 40 years to – mostly recently as Chief Executive and Registrar of the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

Her previous roles include Chief Inspector of Adult Social Care at the Care Quality Commission, Chief Executive at the Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE), Chief Executive at the Appointments Commission and Deputy Chief Executive at the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence.

Due to health challenges Andrea has stepped down from Executive roles, but recently joined the Board of Shared Lives Plus, and is training to be a lay celebrant of funerals.

Richard Webb

Richard has extensive experience of delivering major IT projects and change projects with a transformational impact on organisational design, efficiency and customer service. He is an Executive Partner at Gartner working with organisations across multiple industry sectors. Richard is a Member of the Finance & Resources Committee.

Gill Arukpe MBE – Board Member designate (joining Nov 2025)

Gill has held many senior leadership roles in the voluntary sector for over 40 years, including at Shelter, Novas Overtures HA, Turning Point, Penrose and she was most recently CEO of the Social Interest Group. She also has a particular interest in supporting autistic people into employment as a result of lived experience with family members. Gill was awarded the Social Care Leadership award in 2024 and received an MBE in 2024 for services to charity and mental health.
Gill has joined the Quality & Practice Committee and Audit & Risk Committee, and will be appointed to the Board in November 2025

Michelle Caine -Independent Member of Quality & Practice Committee

Michelle has worked in care and support services for over 15 years, including as CQC responsible individual. She is currently Head of Customer Support for Brain in Hand, who support autistic people, and those with anxiety and low level mental health needs using hybrid technology and human support.

Alan Critchley – Independent Chair of Dimensions Safeguarding Panel

Alan is a Safeguarding specialist having chaired, managed and independently reviewed Safeguarding Boards. As a Social Worker, Alan has worked to support vulnerable people for many years but also has experience at a strategic level, including as Regional Director at Cafcass and chairing the Walsall Adult & Children’s Safeguarding Boards.

He has contributed as a Safeguarding expert to an enquiry into safeguarding failures in a national charity and works with Kent County Council as an Independent Chair and Author of Safeguarding Adult Reviews and Domestic Homicide Reviews.

Rachel Ferris – Independent Member of the HR Committee

During her 38 year career she worked in the NHS and the pharmaceutical industry with roles in commissioning, hospital management and market access for new medicines.

She held a number of leadership roles in the health sector including working on implementing the National Burn Care Review and setting up a range of different networks for specialised health services.

She is Mum to a young autistic woman and is committed to helping people with autism and a learning disability get the best from life.

Fiona Ritchie OBE – Independent Chair of Dimensions Supporting Safe Living Panel

Fiona has worked all her life for people with Learning Disabilities and Autistic people. A psychodynamic Music Therapist by profession she worked as a clinician and manager of community support before moving into Regulation in a national role and was the Lead for the Health Care Commission and then the Care Quality Commission. Fiona has also worked in a Healthcare Trust and was Managing Director for Turning Point. She has now been self-employed for 6 years, working for the NHS as a Senior Intervenor supporting teams discharge people from hospitals and undergoing reviews of peoples care. She is also an Associate with NDTi and is currently Chair of BiLD – the British Institute of Learning Disabilities.

Fiona was awarded an OBE for services to people with Learning Disabilities in 2009 and she is passionate about supporting individuals to find their voice and to constantly strive for a more ambitious future for them.

Laura Duff

Laura has worked in the social care sector for over 20 years starting at PentaHact (now Dimensions) in 2004 and held a wide range of roles from Service Manager, Business Development Project Lead and Area Manager, to now working as Head of Care & Supported Housing for Hightown Housing Association. Laura has also worked for Mencap and ivolve Care & Support. Laura is an Associate Committee Member for the Human Resources Committee.

Saira Shah

Saira has worked in senior HR and other management roles across retail, manufacturing, charity and education sectors and is currently Head of HR for FIGO (International Federation of Gynaecologists and Obstetrics). Saira is an Associate Committee Member for the Quality & Practice Committee.
