Bath celebrate in style

(10/10/06)

Over 120 local people with learning difficulties celebrated their recent achievements at a celebration day on Monday 9th October. The event, held at the Guild Hall in Bath, was open to the public, and was an opportunity for members of the public to find out more about learning disability, as well as to meet local people with a learning difficulty and find out more about their lives.

The event included people sharing their stories, photos and videos about their achievements, as well as stalls offering information about learning disability issues.

The event was organised by Dimensions, a not-for-profit provider who supports the 120 people throughout Bath and the surrounding areas. Lisa Govier, Area Manager at Dimensions, says:

"This event was a real celebration of the achievements the people we support have made over the past year. It was also about integration – it's great opportunity for the local community to find out more about learning disability and to meet some of the people we support who live in their community."
