Table tennis star shines in Swedish parasports

Fitness fan Andrew has always enjoyed exercise, but his determination to try and succeed at a new sport has seen him jetting off across the globe.

Before trying table tennis, you could find Andrew at the gym or swimming baths enjoying his spare time.

After expressing an interest in trying a new sport, Out There (our sport service for people with learning disabilities and autism run by Outreach 3 Way), supported him to try something new.

Andrew took to table tennis and worked extremely hard to improve his hand-eye co-ordination, before joining Brighton Table Tennis Club.

He’s an enthusiastic member of the club, and regularly practices with his teammates. Recently they competed in the Malmo Open parasport event in Sweden.

Andrew loved it. Playing table tennis has given him more confidence than ever before and he’s made new friends.
