Russ Kennedy, Director of Dimensions Cymru, will soon be taking part in a fundraising challenge that certainly isn’t for the faint-hearted.
On 7th April he will lace up his trainers to take part in the Vale Coastal Ultra Marathon , a 32-mile ultra marathon that spans across hilly, rocky, and exposed terrain along the Welsh coast.
Due to the variations in the course it is considered an “ultra marathon” and will be a big challenge for Russ, who ran his first marathon on flat ground last year.
“My greatest worry is that I am going to let people down and that I am going to be a wobbly, stumbling, weeping and exhausted wreck after about 20 miles.” said Russ.
“The money raised will go towards supporting our volunteering service in Wales- which aims to help more of the people we support have friendships, experiences and opportunities outside of funded support.
“I am most excited about completing the course and having funding that we can be completely creative and strengths-based with.
“That, and the amount of pizza I will be able to eat with total impunity!”
