With around 1,000 tenants living in a mix of houses, flats and registered care homes across England and Wales, Dimensions is a specialist in housing for people with learning disabilities and autism.
We believe that everyone has the right to a good home and to live where they choose. Our housing team works to source, provide, and maintain homes for the people we support.
We know that finding safe and suitable housing can be really difficult for disabled people, or for those moving into the community after leaving an Assessment and Treatment Unit.
Specialist housing support
Our team are experts in finding innovative solutions, such as buying a home for someone, or working in partnership with others to build or adapt accommodation.
With years of experience, our housing team can advise on:
- finding a property
- renting a home and tenancy agreements
- renting from private landlords, the local authority, developers, families or a housing association
- shared ownership
- buying a property
- property maintenance services.
We give the people we support as much choice and control over their lives and homes as possible. Our person-centred approach provides a matching service to make sure tenants are compatible with their new housemates.
We provide Easy Read tenancy agreements and support to make sure our tenants fully understand their contracts. The housing team continues to provide housing support throughout a tenancy.
The team manage maintenance for most tenancies, as well as those managed on our behalf by other providers. Most private landlords maintain their own homes. We work with a number of contractors to make sure all repairs comply with our high standards of safety, security and efficiency.
We are a Registered Social Landlord and Registered Provider of social housing, owning some 260 properties. In relation to supported living, we have over 140 different contracts with local authorities, covering over 800 supported living services and we are an accredited supplier to over 70 local authorities.
