Some of the people we support need help communicating with others.
The communication systems outlined in this document are designed to help the people we support to:
- communicate their wants and needs to others (expressive language)
- understand other people’s communication (receptive language).
This publication is designed to explain what the various types of communication systems are and when it is best to use them. We have produced this for our staff and the people we support. We are sharing it to promote best practice across the sector.
