Learning disabled couple tie the knot

A pair of childhood friends tied the knot this summer in a rare marriage of two people with learning disabilities.

We are really happy and looking forward to spending our lives together and helping each other.
We are really happy and looking forward to spending our lives together and helping each other.

A shy romantic, Kevin waited for Louise to ask him out but, perhaps to get her own back, Louise made him wait a day for the answer when he asked her to marry him.

At the wedding reception the newlyweds opened the dancing with “Love lift us up where we belong.”

The Manager of their supported living service, Helen, was also a witness. She’s known Louise for about 20 years and found the day emotional.

It’s back to reality after their honeymoon – Louise goes back to work at Starbucks and Kevin at Sainsburys. We wish the newlyweds a long and happy future together.
