Introducing The Big Friendly Read challenge

This summer, as part of our autism friendly libraries initiative, we are proud to introduce The Big Friendly Read challenge.

What is the Big Friendly Read?

The Big Friendly Read happens every summer at libraries around the UK.

To complete the challenge, you must read six books over the summer holidays. You can even listen to an audio book – that counts too!

How do I participate?

To participate, all you have to do is go to your local library and tell them you would like to take part. The staff members will then give you a folder with all the information you need to get started.

When you have finished the challenge you will get a certificate and a medal – so why wait? Get started today!

What if my library isn’t autism friendly?

You can ask your library to become autism friendly and show them how important the changes are for you. They can also watch the training video we have provided for library staff to make their libraries more autism friendly.
