North Central
Welcome to the North Central region of Dimensions
We support over 200 people with learning difficulties throughout our region. Our purpose is to help the people we support to live the life they want, and we believe that people with learning difficulties should be respected, have the same opportunities in life as everyone else, and make their own choices and decisions.
Type of services we offer
We currently provide services throughout West Yorkshire, Doncaster and North Lincolnshire. We provide:
- supported living services, which are tailored to meet the needs of the people we are supporting. This means that their support packages can range from 2 to 60 hours per week;
- 24 hour care in group homes;
- transitional services, for young people with a learning difficulty;
- registered residential care in Scunthorpe.
We are able provide other types of support service where appropriate
Our aims
We endeavour to make a real difference to the lives of the people we support. We will do this by focusing on the following regional aims:
- Making sure that the people we support have choice and control over their life.
- Our employees will be skilled and confident in what they are doing.
- We will look to provide new services for more people with learning difficulties.
- We will be fair to everyone and treat people equally.
- We will look to continuously improve our current services.
- We will make sure that we manage our money well.
Sarah's story
I got a job as a cleaner at the Dimensions offices and had a support worker to help me. They would remind me of the jobs I had to do and help me to do them well. We would tick off the jobs on a list as I did them. Staff would fill in a timesheet for me, and I would get paid every month. Last year I discussed with a manager how I was getting on. I felt confident that I knew the job well, and could do it without the help of a support worker. So now I get to work on my own. I know all the jobs that need doing. I am responsible for buying in all the cleaning materials, and I fill in my timesheet myself. I feel proud of myself. I really enjoy talking to the people I see at the office and feel a lot more confident than I used to.
