Kayley's story
Kayley lived in a residential home for 15 years before Dimensions began to support her at the age of 18 in August 2005. Kayley, who has autism and complex learning difficulties, needed support during mealtimes and had very little independence.
Since Dimensions began supporting Kayley through the transition of moving from residential care to living in her own home, her life has been transformed. Kayley spends more time with family and friends, and is getting out and about in the community. She visits the supermarket, travels on public transport and takes short day breaks. Kayley is now able to dress independently, eat without support and do her own housework.
Kayley is a regular attendee of our Regional Advisory Forums, where the people we support have their say on what we're doing. And, most recently, we found out that Kayley had to move out of her house, so we supported her to buy and move into her own home.
