Dimensions teamed up with the National Development Team for Inclusion (NDTi) to support families to better understand personalisation.
Liz Wilson, one of our Family Consultants, has been working on the Better Lives Project in Suffolk, Wolverhampton and Calderdale since January 2011. The project was set up with funding from Dimensions to explore what is needed for the many families who are wary of personalisation to rethink and give personal budgets serious consideration.
We found that local authorities need to change how they work with families. They need to spend time giving families good information and to help them meet other families who have done interesting things. Families want information about planning, money, services and getting the whole family involved.
