Joining forces with Owl

Dimensions, a leading provider of support services to people with learning disabilities and autism, merged with fellow learning disability specialist Owl this month. This will be Dimensions' third significant merger in the last eight years and will further strengthen the support we can provide for people with learning disabilities across England and Wales.

After joining forces, the new organisation will support over 2,300 people with learning disabilities and autism and employ over 4,000 staff.

David Wolverson, Chief Executive of Dimensions, said: "This is a time when support services are changing and people will have the option of managing their own individual budgets. This is the great challenge to organisations and Dimensions aims to provide greater choice and control to each individual it supports by helping them use their budgets flexibly to find the right support package for them.

"Through achieving advantages of scale we can ensure our focus remains on local presence. Together we can build upon our respective strengths and provide an even better service for the people we support and allow us to reach even more people living in a larger geographical area."

Debbie Brenner and Jane Taylor, Owl's job-sharing Chief Executives issued a joint statement, saying: "Owl is delighted to have found a strong partner which shares our values, ways of working and vision for the future. We are excited about the merger and the benefits and opportunities that this will bring for the people we support."
