Research
We are committed to meeting the needs of the people we support. We carry out research so that we have a good understanding of what they need. Our most recent research is included in 'A Home of My Own' report.
We interviewed young people between the ages of 18 and 30, along with their families and support staff, about their experiences relating to the transition into their own home.
We hope the findings will provide help and advice for young people and their families on planning independent living. It also provides guidelines and recommendations for care providers and local authorities.
Transitions Development Manager at Dimensions, Kate Jackson, says:
"Parents need to be better informed about available housing options at the point of transition planning. No truly person-centred plan should overlook the importance of having 'A Home of My Own'."
