About us

We want Dimensions to be the best there is. Alongside the people we support, their families and our commissioners, we work towards that goal every day.

We’re one of the country’s largest not-for-profit organisations supporting people with learning disabilities, autism, behaviours of distress and those with complex health needs.

Driven by our values, we place the people we support and their families at the heart of everything we do. We want every person we support to have a great life, with excellent outcomes.

We support people to be active in their communities.

We are always working to improve standards – our own and across the sector. Dimensions was a pioneer of personalised and person-centred support, showing how it works in practice, and enabling thousands of people to have greater choice and control over their lives.

Activate

We’d like to introduce you to Activate.

Activate is our approach to supporting people. It is evidence-based and outcomes-focused. Developed through rigorous research, it increases meaningful activity by 25% and, for people who experience them, lowers challenging behaviours by 60%.

With Activate, as in all our work, Dimensions enables the people we support to live as active citizens, playing their part in our communities.

Housing

Most people we support live as tenants in their own homes, living alone or with small number of housemates. In some cases we are the landlord; mostly, however, we help people find and adapt the home that is right for them through our team of housing brokers. Read more on our housing offer.

We continue to be innovative in our approach, and our Strategy for 2025 outlines our ongoing commitment to leadership in our sector.
