Three of the people we support in Fountain House, in the South West, are Muslims.
Recently we have managed to form relations with the local Mosque; the brothers have been to prayers, tea and food was provided afterwards and the support staff were also made very welcome.
The elders managed to dispel some myths around Muslim faith and disability, and the support staff came back full of enthusiasm and very pleased that the people we support had such a warm welcome.
The Mosque elders are coming to look at a suitable area for prayers to be held in house and they also wish to come for dinner with us.
The brothers are also going to attend weekly prayer meetings at the Mosque. We're thrilled with this development and so are the brothers.
